I can't read the VIN correctly from that picture... But even if I could, the vin will not tell you what your gear ratio is. You have to look at the axle number on the door sticker or the tag on the rear diff. Can't tell if the code is still visible on that tag. Otherwise you'll need to crack the diff and count the teeth.

Looks like it has an axle code of "19" if that is the decal from the door jam.. Think this was a 3.55 gear with open carrier[confused]

Jurgen,

FYI LS and Posi both mean the samething, "Limited Slip". "Positraction" is GM's trade name for a limited slip axle.

From what I've read, the technologies are actually different in the way that they operate but they're both working to accomplish the same this, letting the diff slip when the wheels are spinning at close to the same speed, and locking it up when one wheel begins to spin a lot faster than the other. That's what it means to have posi or LS, even though it's accomplished in different ways.
