Code 332 - Insufficient EGR flow detected. Truck stalling

The code 332 is the only code I’m getting with the “key on engine off” test.

With the engine cold it starts fine but it will stall about 30 seconds to a minute after starting it, then it is usually hard to get started again. Once the engine has fully warmed up it does not stall and starts fine.

Can this EGR code be causing the stalling?

I have not found any vacuum leaks.....yet

Egr springs get weak. Mine died at about 17-18 years. Easy to replace usually and usually low cost for gas rigs

Sent from my mudwhistle via lemmiwinks.

@5.0Flareside – Believe me the thought has crossed my mind more than once lol

@jebadiah04 – I replaced the egr valve & sensor about 4 years ago. I haven’t ruled them out yet, I’m going to test both of them today and remove & inspect the valve if needed.

After that I’m going to get/borrow a vacuum tester. I pulled the vacuum lines off the evr solenoid and I couldn’t feel any vacuum on the source line when I put my finger over it. I can’t find anything that tells me how much vacuum should be present at that line though.

Vacuum to the egr is not constant. It is controlled by the computer at part throttle.

Usually EGR shows up as a hick up while driving, and has no effect on idling.

Have you checked the timing,to see if the timing may be off, or checked to see if the timing chain is worn, and could possibly jumped a tooth?

Pretty sure I have the stalling bit taken care of. Looks like I got some filthy gas, it was a couple days after I filled up that the stalling started to happen. Changed the fuel filter today after remembering that and so far so good.
Blew backwards through the old filter and a bunch of crud came out and my tank isn’t all that old so I don’t think it’s from that.

Now should I keep trying to chase down that code 332 or forget about it? lol

Might be an old code from before you changed it. clear the code, and see if it comes back
