Are you talking about just wiring up the lights or how to get a wire up there from the dash?

they are wired in parallel so if one goes out the others stay lit.

run the power wire across the cab from the A PILLAR post here comes an illustration

I installed the ones on my truck myself.

To set them on the roof I used a string from the front of one drip rail to another across the roof.I measured the string then started from the center marked the distances on the string with a magic marker. Re-attached the string then drilled the front hole where the mark on the strings were.

The ones I installed came from Dennis. There is a brown wire under the dash that you plug the roof lights into so that they come on with the headlight switch. I used blue masking tape to mark everything and drilled through the tape to keep from scratching the paint in case the drill bit slipped.

A nice tip for drilling is to get one of those step drill bits and of course the masking tape. But those bits don't slip much and the drill won't push through and hit your truck. I had to drill out many holes for my lower race track trim and it worked great. Didn't have one scratch or slip from my drill.

The plug in on the 73-79 is behind and up from the head light switch.

You start in the center and work towards the outside.

You can cluster the inner 3 or space them all the same distance apart.

I spaced my inner 3 about 11" apart.. center to center

Hey Dennis I found that plug on the 72 but it has two plugs fillin up the holes already. I tried to test the other with a test light with the lights on and with the key on and got nothin. I checked the test light and it was fine.
