When it comes to efi rigs, I'm completely ignorant, but when it comes to a carb'd vs. efi 460, are the only differences heads and intake??? Can internals, primarily rotating assemblies interchange? Oil pans swap? Accessories swap given pulleys are changed???

Ben,intake setup, wiring harness, electronic fuel pump, vehicle computer,is eccential for the swap, internals of the engine are irelevant, oil pans will swap along with the oil pump & pickup.only reason i see in changing heads is if your going to a different assesory setup as the head casting {location of assesory mounting holes may be different in the efi engines}along with water pump snouts.there are aftermarket kits out there that make this a breeze for the home mechanic.keep in mind non EFI rigs dont have the provisions to support EFI.you would have to strip everything from another rig that has it,imo the aftermarket system would be the way to go on a non efi rig they give you all thats needed in the kit & offer support. hope this helps clarify things.

Actually, the intake of a factory EFI will bolt to the old heads, so as Buzz states, it would all be about the accessories, although I have my doubts that older accessories will not bolt to newer heads, it generally is the other way around. You can also bolt a carbed intake to an EFI motor (460 only, the 302 and 351W will not trade). For a factory type swap, you have to have the pumps, all sensors, actuators and such to come with to make it right. It is possible to use aftermarket pumps, but most do not do feedback loops, so makes it harder to get to work right. Once you get away from the top of the motor, everything trades on 302, 351W and 460's. There isn't anything exclusive under the heads.

302 and 351 windsors are too the same other than intakes. No differences. Can put efi on Carb can put carb on efi engines no difference except computers where you'll start hitting issues.

My mistake, I'm backwards. 460 efi does not trade, 302-351W do.
