yeah i got the whole plumbing kit from summit..complete with pump filters connections and all. all i need to know is..

how do i put it to get fuel fromt he tank??

i was thinking about leaving the complete thing that goes in the tank where the fuel guage gets its reading. and remove the pump and the small filter underneath then just tap into the original fuel lines to the pump..

how did u do it tony ?

I replaced my tank with a 33 gallon Bronco tank. You might find that a non efi pickup will work in place of the efi one though. Hafta do some checking.

is it okay to do it like i wanted to? use the original picup for the EFI but no pump just put the pump from summint on the line and let suck from there

Why don't you just leave the pump in the tank and get a fuel pressure regulator to get the pressure down to carb levels???

Excatly. Bob has it right. Also I would have kept the FI you can get more power and mileage too.

That type of pump can be used from the top of the tank. It will be hard to prime, but as long as you mount it lower than the tank, it will develop a suction and work.

Yup. To get it to prime the first time, you may have to try to siphon through it. After that you should be ok unless you run out of gas. Then it will need primed again.

i dunno bout more power.. one of the most popular mods to a mustang is to convert it from EFI to Carb, and they crank out LOTS of power.. mileage definetly stay with EFI..

if its carbed you dont have to deal with the computer at all..

and it is a inline six to a v8 swap.. so the new engine didnt come with any FI stuff so in this case its also cheaper.. i wanted to go find a mustang harnass 200$+ then an mustang upper intake/ injector / sensors/ throttle body / misc stuff thats over 1000$

and the intake and carb was just onder 500$

hey this is just the way i did it i converted an 86 mstang to carb due to gang green of the entire wiring harness. anyway i used all the stock efi sending equipment so i would have an acurate fuel guage. i used high pressure hose to connect from wher the pump used to be and connected it to fuel line. it worked great with an after market 7psi electric fuel pump. i attatched to the frame at the engine side. never any issues with not getting it primed i ran that car for three years no issues

you mean you just put an pickup tube where the EFI pump used to be in the tank? and use an inline pump and never had an issue??

i have this pump

http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=SUM-G3136&N=700+115&autoview=sku

if i just do like tony said just put an tube in there and let the pump prime it will be fine???

swear to god never an issue i used 2 inline filters oh take out the inline filter too it is restrictive due to the fact it uses high pressure. yeah that pump should work it may be over kill i used an autozone speacial for like 20 bucks. but yeah pickup tube high pressure hose take out all the unused electrical even the return worked fine cuz its going back through. one thing i would suggest is putting your fuel pump in a switch so if you just hangin out listening to music u wont flood the carb. its what i did, and the switch was only hot with the ignition on so there was no chance of leaving the pump on. any other questions hit me up

hell no problem glad to help keep this in mind my buddy and i did a full engine swap including figuring all this out in 2 1/2 days including the 500 mile trip back to school from his house in MO. specs. 84 non roller block,90 gt lower end, 84 heads port and polished gasket matched( i wasgoing to UTI at the time) 3 angle valve job, and a 351 rv cam so she have all torque and no top end spin 5100 running on 93 edelbrock high rise and holley 650 double. damn dog should have hit it instead of the pole oh well live and learn
