C6 help!

Ok so took my c6 out of my 77 f150 and had it rebuilt well i was playin with it sittin on the bench and noticed if you manually shift it to the far back position its like it locks up and wont come back foward unless you lift this little pipe deal on the rear of it where the shaft comes out. So i put it in and put my tcase on and was tryin to hook my shift linkage up and it went all the way back and locked up again!

Is this normal? What is causin this?

that is park... i knew that just didnt realize that..

but it shouldnt stick into place like that.. its not like a new car were ya have to press in the brakes to release out of park...

Why will it not shift out of park unless i lift that pipe thing up?

Now you may understand there was a recall fix for this because too many transmissions would jump out of park and go into reverse.
This Cost me $1280.00 to fix an escort in 2004

It cant be park because the truck will roll.

See the haynes manual is a totally dif setup

If the transfer case is in neutral, it'll still roll.

talked to the guy who rebuilt my trans , he said " yea i noticed it jumped off track when i was puttin it together , but i put it on and shifted it back and forth and it stayed on!

I think he had a 4spd before...
