Brake Job Blues

Still looking for a hub. Need it ASAP!

Just need a days notice so I can go out to my parts truck and pull it.

Much obliged Dan, but I found one nearby. Had a helluva time slapping it on too. Turns out the inner bearing (one that exploded) decided to leave the inside part of the bearing on the spindle...tried to slide the drum/hub on and it wasn't going on all the way. I had to drill holes in it, then pound on it with a 3lb sledge and a couple chisels to split it and then pull it off (pics to come). THEN, I spent a good hour or so using emery cloth to get all the remnants off to where the new bearing would slide on...ugh!

THEN, with the old outer spindle nut backing off and grinding into my axleshaft hub, the outer spindle threads were screwed up so I had to cross thread the new spindle hubs on. I slapped it together and it's braking ok but the brake pedal seems to go further down than I would like...sounds like I need to bleed but I didn't open up any brake lines... hmmm

Glad to hear that you got your truck fixed!

As for the brake issue, maybe the brake needs to be re adjusted now that the hub is back where it's supposed to be?

Just a thought.

Aw thanks man. She's laid up though After the move, I plan on getting her painted. Probably stick with the same color.

Yeah sounds like adjustment to me too.
