well since me and my fiance bought this truck the blinkers have been messed up. originally when you'd turn the left one on and take a left turn it wouldnt automatically turn off. you had to do it manually. well the right one would do that only on less than 90* turns. well now the right blinker wont engage and hold in place you have to hold it down when making a turn for it to keep blinking. is this some kind of switch going bad?

Kinda sounds like somethings gettin worn.I'm thinkin your turn signal switch is going out.Not too sure on the fundamentals of how the lever actuates the switch, but I know it connects to it somehow.

Ya need to pull the steerin wheel off and take a look. My 72 dont automaticly turn off but it will stay in place. Im used to doin it now so its not that big of a deal to me if it works or not.

Is this the gen 8 or 9? Sounds to me like it's the multiswitch. Randy is right that there is a plastic ring with teeth on the steering column that trip the switch to cancel the blinker-- the problem could also be there.

Well I would assume it's the same for gen 8 but i've never been in here so I dont know

8th gens have a different column than the 9th gens.I believe it's similar to the 7th gens.

Its probly the plastic cam in there thats mounted to the signal arm. Its probly broke the ear off that keeps it in place when ya move it. You can get a new one for real cheap or get the whole harness and new cam for 75 buck or so.
