Do you have the vacuum resevoir on the driver's side fender?

I think the charcoal cannister goes on the drivers side under the inner fender.

I used the wrong terminology. I didn't mean charcoal canister. There is no resevoir. On passenger side is the can, battery tray and some fuses closer to the firewall. Driver side has the jack and place where the windshield fluid resevoir used to be.

Sorry...didn't have a better pic, but I circled in red what I think you're talking about...is it right?

That IS the vacuum reservoir

If you have AC or speed control.. you need it.

If you don't like it but need it , mount it up inside the wheel well like on the 79's

Guys if it is on the drivers side it is probly the vacuum. But he says this is on the passenger side which would be the charcaol canister for the fuel tank vapor. It collects there then is drawn in the carb to be burnt. Most that I have seen the hoses are cut, non-existant, or degraded to the point they just fall off.

The Carbon Cannister is located low down on the passenger side.

One hose goes to the Air cleaner.. the other goes to the fuel tank

Since I took out that useless can I went ahead and took its brace off to. I'm replacing the water pump (leaking) and radiator (leaking). While I still had it out I painted it old Ford blue along with the fan pulley and braces. The valve covers are next. I gave the fan a shot of flat black. Pics to come soon.

Thanks for that diagram Mil1ion, It answered a question I had.
Where did you get it from? A service manual?
