What are some really really good shocks I can get for my 1995 F350 4x4? And what differences have some of you noticed if any with the buckboard ride these trucks give us?

My friend has a F-350, put Carquest shocks a while ago in it because they had a lifetime warranty. It rides pretty stiff, but for what it is, I certainly won't complain about the ride quality...

I've got cheap shocks from Autozone in my truck. The were cheap, they work well enough that the truck is safe (old ones were worn beyond safe...), but that's it. I wish I'd spent more for better ones.

Bought the Bilsteins last fall. The ride is improved. They're worth the extra few bucks.

I got the AC Delco special. Rides like crap. How do I know what good is in a F350 with a straight axle and stiff springs. No shocks are going to help it out.

You'd be very surprised... My brother's truck rides stiffer than hell with his heavy PSD springs and what-not. He changed up to Bilsteins and it made a noticeable difference in the ride quality. Keep in mind that the shocks are not supporting the weight, as your springs do. They are merely acting to soften the movement in the springs, reducing the small bumps in in the road.

yes exactly. I put new shocks on this truck going on two years, and when I replaced them I noticed a big difference, but in terms of looks, when I had the truck undercoated the guys painted over my rear shocks, and I wanted that shock for looks but now its all painted black, so I figured either replace them in the rear so I have that detail again or just not worry about it until shock time came again

The only reason I changed my shocks was, because they were making sounds, ended up the bolts were all rotted out and worn out in the middle. I didnt notice anything when I changed them. Maybe the high doller ones might make it ride better but prob not good enough for me to spend it. Im a cheapo. Seeing the AC Delcos are 2 years old and prob 10K on them. There staying on untill the grade 8 bolts get all hour glassed like the old ones. Or they blow out either or.

You didn't let 'em get worn out enough...

I changed my factory front shocks at 220k miles...right before I changed 'em, the nose would dive scary-bad under anything above normal braking, and on bumpy roads, I could either steer or brake, not both. $18/corner discount specials made a huge difference. It still rides like crap, though. :(

Lol, I hate noises so it had to get changed.
