Axle Tube

Hey guys and gals, this is my first day on the site and i will be here for along time to come. I guess i will get to it I have a 2004 F-150 new style three years ago i hit some ice on the road and put the truck on its side, long story short Im fixing it up now and dont have much to go but when this happened I snaped the rear axle on the driver side and it caused some damage to te end of the tube were the seal goes. is there any way to get the end piece that the backing plate bolts to and the seal sits it and cuting old one off and welding a new one on are am i SOL. Any help would be great if know one can understand me then i can post pictures if needed let me know Thanks

First Welcome to FTF..

I think you'd be money ahead by just going to a salvage yard and getting a "new" axle from a wrecked truck...

By the time you spend the cash and time on trying to salvage that housing, you might as well have a whole 'nother axle...You could even upgrade to a locker... check out car-part.com for salvage yards near you that have replacements and the prices.
