Auxiliary fuel tank in F-250

Aight guys I appreciate all your help with the trans question I had a couple of days ago. I will more than likely do a swap for a zf 5 speed next spring. Now my question is, I need more fuel so whats my best option. I have visited northern tools website and they seem to have some nice equipment for sale. My truck is not a duel tank truck. It's a single 19 gallon set-up. I need at least 17-20 gallons more, so I don't have to fill up twice a night. Is there a way to run a dual tank set-up possibly out of another truck? Or should I just go ahead and buy a northern tool tank, allowing it to gravity feed to my primary tank? Thanks again gentleman.

You could always add a side mount tank...it wouldn't have a fuel door, but then you could double your capacity. Or you could have a custom tank made...I've seen them up to 45 gallons for rear mount tanks...but it'll cost you about $550-600.

Side question...I never understood why filling up was such a problem...it only takes a few minutes and you don't have spend the extra few hundred bucks on more tanks. So what's so bad about filling up twice a night?

It's on the side. To answer your question about filling up twice a night. Have you ever been to Detroit? I am a repo man in Detroit. The repo man in Detroit is looked upon worse than a tax collector. Worse than police. I am the enemy to anyone in Detroit. Stopping for fuel on the east side at 3 in the morning isn't the safest thing in the world. A repo man just a couple of weeks ago was stopped putting on his dollies and got shot 3 times by a masked man. It was a robbery and didn't have anything to do with the repo. Detroit isn't #3 for homicides for nothing. I am just trying to be safe. My flak jacket and s&w m&p aren't the only ways to be safe while working in this industry.

Gotcha...best to be safe. But to answer your question, you're gonna drop an easy $500 to add any extra fuel. If you go with a stock tank, you'll pay for that plus lines plus labor. If you go with a custom tank, you're talking an easy $500 plus lines plus labor. Might save some money if you just throw something together in the bed of your truck.

Thats what I am thinking. In the bed is probably my best bet. Labor isn't a problem, I have all the tools necessary to do the job. I have many friends who weld and I could easily have them weld up something for me. But I would rather buy something pre-fab.
