another exhaust thread!!

ok i have longtube headers NO CATS
and 2 hooker aerochambers 2.5" center in offset out
i want an H-pipe somewhere

and im debating on:

(A) Dual exit passenger side (gen2 style)

(B) 1 pipe exit on each side before tire facing outwards like kind of hidden not with chrome tips or nothing ( dont worry i dont have the front tank anymore)

(C) 1 pipe exit on each side before tire with turn downs 45degrees facing outwards ( dont worry i dont have the front tank anymore)

(D) dual turn downs after axle one each side..


i dont worry about it being louder or nothing i have a set of these installed at headers to open when i want

to determine the correct place for an H pipe you need to run the exhaust without it for a little while. Spray paint the exhaust pipe about 3' with regular spray paint - not temp resistant. The exact point that the paint does not burn off is where you want the H-pipe

no its farther...more like 12" but its different for every motor.

ok ill paint a long part of the exhuast with normal paint and we will see then

I like options c and d... I couldnt make my mind up which I liked better...

I like a and d...d gives it that retro rod style while a gives it the newer style....that and I'm biased toward it cause that's how it was on my truck.....I didn't ever hear about the trick with the paint Kris Thanks......wouldn't an X pipe deliver better power though?JAT

i think im going Gen2 exhaust..style less drone.. and when things get serious ill just open up the cut outs

uhh right now...half arsed.....dual strights 2 1/4 going into a 2 in one out Thrush welded somin out 2 1/4 straight back and dumping out with a turn down angled down and to the side right at the back corner....
