The pearl would cause that.

Thank you captain obvious...haha. I realized that, I wanted to know why sometimes on different vehicles it's a hint of pink and on other paint jobs it's a hint of blue. I'd assume something in the paint mix...is it intentional or just a byproduct?

I think that color will look good on your truck.
However, all of the Cadillac pearlescent paint colors are very expensive to have applied, and they can be very difficult to match.:headbang:
When I worked in an autobody shop 4 years ago, it took 17 trial mixtures to get the color right!'smiliedoh'
Also, at that time, it was $570 a pint!
Hope that you don't have to repaint any scratches any time soon!

i asked my guy about durability with scratches and he said he is going to put more clear coat on so i guess we will see as long as i get that tanny color it should be ok i hope i seen the work this fellow did on 2 kw trucks next door to us and it was awsome and these are bush trucks! not one run or over spray any where and that was the reason i went with this guy with recomondation from a very good freind he even wants to take my f250 and redo the clear coat/wet sand it and give me that depth that i dont have now regurds joe

Somethin' Like That
...as I said before, I have a problem with the hint of pink it shows when in the proper lighting...I've seen some that have a hint of blue instead of pink though...dunno what would cause the difference.

There are many different colors of pearl additive... every derivative of the rainbow and then some... like copper, gold (which is in the caddy color), silver, platinum, etc. and the infamous mother pearl, which will change from red (pink) to blue as you change perception angle. Naturally, as the additive starts with ground up pearls, it is hard to totally eliminate the pink hues, but it becomes more minimal when tinted with the green/blue/indigo side of the spectrum. The version Ford uses on the Taurus and Fusion has silver and platinum, which tends to gleam more of the blue, whereas the Expedition uses gold and gives more of the "tanny" color. Also different color basecoats have a huge influence on the final product too, but is easier to see the differences when using candy colors. White, however, is not subject to this since the basecoat is the white, but to help eliminate the pink, you would use more blue and platinum pearl. Hope this all helps somewhat!

My boss has got a new Tahoe.. same color w the leather to match.. Thatll be purdy on a dentside i think. Yes.. post the pics when you git em

i could put one in my gallery of how it will sort of look as i still cant figure out how to post pics here

Either upload pics into a gallery, and copy the BB code and paste it into your post, or upload to a photobucket account, copy the IMG code and paste that into your post.
