I have a 76 with soft AC duct, I noticed while walking around a junk 79 the other day it had hard plastic ducting to everything including the side reg. wounder if the 79 hard duct would my 76. Seems like it would be better.

"Oh yeah...that'll work." Uh huh...

It seems some ppl typin' away in this thread have forgotten, or are unaware that....

1973/79 F100/350 (1978/79 Bronco): There were THREE different A/C's available.

1) Factory installed Integral A/C: The A/C/Heater Control Panel is the same.

2) Deluxe dealer installed A/C: The A/C dash bezel is huge, covers up the entire right side of the dash...including the glove box.

With Deluxe dealer installed A/C, there is a separate glove box hung under the dash.

3) Economy dealer installed A/C. The two A/C switches are in a panel that also includes two registers. The original glove box is intact.

Which A/C do you have?

My 76 and the 79 I'm talking about with the plastic duct both have the factory units [your item 1]

While I know that neither me nor Buck know as much as you do Bill I am most certain Buck knows about dealer add on air as well as I do. We don't have the "behind the counter" mentality to ask all of the questions like you do. I ASSuMEd that the OP had the factory A/C which he does.

I just happen to have one of these laying in my back yard. This is neither Economy, Deluxe or factory. It happens to be aftermarket and they used the Hi side of the fan switch to turn the A/C on. It looks identical to a dealer ad on A/C system BUT used the stock controls. You can see in the 2nd picture a stick on label that said A/C.

So like I said in my 1st post yes it will.

Oh by the way Bill, how about that catalogue you promised me back in November of 2008?:(

Guess I figured by the question, he had factory A/C or he would have asked something along the lines of "I was walking around the junkyard and saw different A/C setups and was wondering.............".

Thanks for your info guys, I got the plastic setup out of the 79 and it fit like a glove. I like it much better than the soft duct.
By the way Buck, What blue is that on your truck; thats a very good looking color.

The only thing I had trouble with the plastic ducting was trying to mount a CD player. The CD player was to deep and would hit the ducting and wouldn't slide in all the way to be flush with the dash bezel. The ducting could be easily modified though, but I didn't do anything. I went another route for a radio. Just FYI.

The blue I chose was a Dupont Bright Atlantic Blue that I think Ford/Lincoln/mercury used in 2002 or something like that.

A heat gun will reshape that duct with no problem. The duct had no affect on my CD install in the Bronco.
