ABS Light

The ABS light and the e brake light came on in my 1998 f-150 last night when I was comming home. Does anyone around the st. louis area know of anyone that has the scan tool to check this, or should I get it into the dealer this week??

be sure you didn't accidently depress the E brake pedal. But most larger shops will be able to scan an ABS code.

Went back and took everything apart tonight. The culpret was a cracked copper washer on the brake line, leaked all the fluid out and that was the reason the lights came on.

That was going to be my guess... No fluid.

Yep low fluid will cause that, its a dummy light.

Well this problem has been fixed and back to normal. With all of this rain here latly got me to thinking about how terrible the brakes on this truck are. Seems to me they have always been this way. It has new calipers, new pads, new rotors and they still suck. I do alot of trailering so I am pretty rough on them and have my sights set to high for them. Has anyone else every experienced this??
