A little pool of oil on intake manifold - 400ci -question

So, then what did you mean by puke out? Did it come out the top? Sorry if it's a dumb question. I just assumed it was burning that kinda oil in that 150 miles of driving.


My guess is it was coming out of the valve covers, intake, oil pan gasket, rear main seal, etc.

Ok well my 460 had a pool of oil accumulating in the wells of the intake and I put new valve cover gaskets on - no more oil.

Yeah, I'm going to try and torque the valve covers like Ben suggested after I do Mark's trick of cleaning it first. I bet that's it.

My guess is it was coming out of the valve covers, intake, oil pan gasket, rear main seal, etc.

This is what I surmised.

Watch out on torquing them too much. A bent or misshapen valve cover will leak like a lawn sprinkler with an STD. Then you'll need new covers/gaskets. I replaced covers & gaskets anyway. Went back to OEM (Power By Ford)
