A light-er problem...

Okay...here's an odd one. The under-hood light stays on! What the h___? It's not like an refrigerator door, eh? So tell me, if you please...How does it work, and how do I fix it? (Okay, with a leaking gas tank and a leaking rear seal/bearing on my trans, this is not my most pressing problem, but still...)

LOL :)

Pull the bulb out, you don't need the stinkin' thing anyway,
because you've got a Photon II in your pocket, right? ;)

I took one of those light sockets apart and can remember all
sorts of details about but dangged if I can remember how it
works. :( But do remember thinking it was junk. :/

Alvin in AZ
ps- Search Amazon for: CR2016 battery ...$2.45 for 5. ;)

Well, shoot, Alvin... I keep forgettin' bout that phaser I carry!

Thanks for the tip about the light/battery pack at Amazon.

Mines a bit wacky, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

I guess that's what you get from a pick-n-pull hood from a ratted out F-250, from Canada I might add.

I never had a problem with mine, I guess I have been lucky. Can you get new switches?

They work by a mercury gravity switch. When you open the hood, it closes the circuit....when you close the hood, it opens the circuit.

Yep that's how they work and I think it's a good option to keep working!
The base that you can pull out has a magnet so you can place it all around the engine compartment. Just carefully open it up and check the connections.

Got it...

Thanks...that makes sense-better sense than I'd come up with: a little guy, who is unionized, that flips the switch off when he hears the hood closed. I thought he was laid-off and got 90% of his pay for doing nothing. :wasntme:
