A ? for Canadian members re Ebay buys

Good day I am from Alberta and am just wondering how many of my Canadian counterparts buy on EBAY on a regular basis from U.S. sellers ?
The reason I am asking is in regards to the EBAY Global Shipping Program that has recently being introduced adding about 30 to 100% to the cost of shipping to Canada. Upon enquiring about this program I found out this is an EBAY program that is supposed to make it easier for U.S. sellers to sell
"across the border" but at those shipping prices with out any other options
I think my 5 years on EBAY and close to 200 buys is coming to a bitter end.
A few other things I found out also, EBAYS call center is located in the Philippines [imagine that!] as it took me aprox 40 min to find a phone number to call them! And this was in response to a question I asked to a U.S. seller that had a listing with the Global Shipping Program and he/she changed the listing to "does not ship to Canada" shortly after my question was asked. And in talking with EBAY this is within their terms!
This is sounding more like a U.P.S. scam all the time with all their sky high border fees.

When I first started buying from eBay I had some items shipped here, that ended real fast and I started to have them shipped to a place in Montana that acts as a shipping/receiving depot.
The amount they want to ship here is insane and if they are making more costly, I suspect a lot of people will stop buying.

Try conversing with the sellers and ask for special rates based on USPS prices.
In the USA USPS picks up parcels.

I have to get stuff sent directly because a 4hr drive one way to Sweetgrass is too costly and time consuming.
