97 Ranger XLT ext cab 4x4

Does anyone know if the wiring harness in this picture, (found inside the door when i took off the panel) has anything to do with the fact that my interior light stays on and the door ajar light stays on in the dash board? It does have power door locks and i did notice that the bottom rod connecting the actuator to the lock mechanism was missing, i will replace the rod soon.

darn it! cant upload pic... too big!! its a three wire plug, red green, black, with a circular female plug on one end and on the other end is an octagonal shaped reciever that looks like its supposed to slide over a nut? rod? or something like that...
help! lol

The light switch for the cab light is in the door latch. Is it hooked up?
They are notorious on some trucks to stick a good dose of wd40 seems to cure this up if it is sticking.
