My fave is 4" chrome straight stacks with flange welded on for headers dumping in front tire . I'm deaf now but its fun to see fireworks

Here is a concept you may be interested in...this is currently on my 79...basicaly its homemade and very low budget...It does the job thats all that matters at this point in time......

the system is held up with a slide bracket welded to the top of the mufflers then slides into the stock hanger on the truck....

Sorry, no. The "true dual" has an exhaust pipe from each exhaust manifold, into a muffler for each side, may have an "X" or "Y" pipe to help scavenging.

Curious, how does a dual in dual out muffler differ from say an X pipe? Mac Performance offers the Mac Prochamber which is a chambered crossover.

From my understanding.the dual chamber with a crossover gives the muffler a dual sound...H AND X pipes equalize the exhaust at the front of the system,which tecnically is what you want to do to equalize the system..I just dont see how this type of muffler can equalize the system...the exhaust is well down stream at this point...

That looks very similar to the setup that was on my 79...and if my ancient memory serves me correctly, the same kind of setup was on my 77 hiboy with the 1970 429.
Edit..the 79 had pipes exit over the axle....the 77 was the same exit before the wheel...my memory is slipping so it seems.

I chalk it up to hmmmm....a few things....maybe playing with that blob of mercury when I was younger did affect me....or more likely it was the shenanigans in my teens....maybe
