Okay so on the egr the "fad"? The blower is rediculous why is this? And can I completely do away with the egr? If so how what all do I plug off or take off? Thanks!

the truck also idles at 2000 rpm constantly :s ive replaced the idle control and it doesn't adjust any ideas about the vaccum leak though its obnoxiously loud
 
Dennis (Mil1ion) always suggests using a propane torch (Not Lit of course). Turn it on and send the gas around the vacuum areas. The propane will make the engine rev if it gets into the system.

Welli unplugged the hose from the map censor and it idled down and there was no more obnoxious noise but it started blowing smoke out the exaust

Yeah, but that's normal.. you create a low vac on the map so thatthe engine gets a over rich mixture. You should leave the EGR were it is, but blind it off with a piece of sheet alloy. I've blinded everything from the Thermactor, but I've left the soleniods connected. How is you PCV hose? maybe it's not connected at te valvecover anymore (one cannot see it; feel it)

I looked at some map censors online and the one that's in my truck seems to be aftermarket or just way more expensive then the rest the regular ones are only 60$ the one I found to fit mine was 120+

Before you spend any cash on what may not be needed,do the test as Mark stated above.check ALL Vaccum hoses for cracks and brittleness replace those first also inspect the pcv line for clogs,valve function,hose deteroration,replace as needed.check for worn or blown intake valley gaskets these motors were prone to blow out them out at higher mileage.the propane test will also tell the tale if they are blown.then go from there.

My upper plenum had all the
Bolt tabs broke off on the
Side under the horn. Nasty vac leak was the result. Never found it until I pulled the engine.
