hi everyone. im new here but i have a 89 f-150 w/300-6 in it and i'm getting oil in my air filter case and on air filter. don't think it's pvc valve it is new. has about 170,000 miles. what would be next step?
Didn't respond before because I didn't see the thread. The oil in your air box is coming from hose that connects your oil filler neck to your air box. The idea here is that fuel vapors in your crank case can be recycled back into your intake and burned off. There should be a small filter in the bottom of your air box to help absorb any debris or oil. Unfortunately the design is piss poor and what happens is the filter gets saturated with oil then deteriorates over time. I'd recommend either getting in the habit of checking/replacing that filter often, or figuring out a way to delete it from the system. There is discussion about deleting it in this thread:hi everyone. im new here but i have a 89 f-150 w/300-6 in it and i'm getting oil in my air filter case and on air filter. don't think it's pvc valve it is new. has about 170,000 miles. what would be next step?
