Keeping in mind I'd have to get it in Missouri.

^^^Agreed...needs metal work in the super cab portion on the passenger side...and drivers side quarter has bondo. Says it runs and drives just fine. It was on eBay a few weeks ago with a 4k buy it now. As of tonight he said he'd take 2375. Given what it is...I was thinking tops of 2k originally...but seeing those pics tonight...I'm not sure I'd give more than 1750...and that's just because its a 350 sc 4x4. It's not pretty...but this is would be a purchase purely for potential.

I don't know the prices there, but what you are suggesting seems reasonable...I see a lot of work there.

Ben imo there would be a shedload of work just removing the rust from it - it's hard to tell from the pics but some of that looks like it was painted with a brush and roller ..... that is really good for hiding flaws plus the 100mph tape covering that rust hole in the floor is a bit of an indicator to condition of the underside.
I guess it comes down to what you want and how much you are prepared to pay - personally i'd stump up the extra and buy something that is someones forgotten toy along the lines of what Ken brought and put your own finishing touches to it
I say that as i know just how much you can sink into a project compared to what you can buy for the same amount of $$$.
On the other hand if you want to build one as a hobby then that would be a good candidate with the brightwork and moldings being mostly there ..... i would much rather see anyone put their spare coin into a hobby such as restoring vehicles (especially ford trucks) than peeing it up against the urinal at the local bar.

Fair point Mark. Only reason this would be a consideration is...it's one of 1700...and any one of them in any sort of decent condition will climb to 5-6k in a hurry and can hit more pretty quickly. Short of a rolling chassis...I haven't come across many of these less than 3k. But I'll let this thread ride and have you guys be my voice of reason.

No no no no no! I know there's way better trucks than that floating around your neck of the woods. That thing is rough.

If it weren't a 350...not only that, but a super cab 350...I'd agree.

A 250 supercab in good shape would be much better. Whadya want a 350 for anyway?

That's my ultimate dentside of all time. So I'm bias...and that's why I brought it here.

Hi Ben Imo yes ALOT of work there Ben....you know it...we know it...rare yes...will the cost of bringing it back be worth it? Only if this is what you really really want...its not going to be easy tho....but you know that..remember it may be rare...but the completed dollar value wont come close to what the resto will cost...But you know that as well....If it was me...i would think long and hard, do your homework in a worst case scenerio and go from there, about purchasing it.

I say if you really want it, and you've got the bank to fixerup, why not? It's obviously not being taken proper care of by the current owner. It needs some TLC from a real enthusiast. Will it take some money and elbow grease? Yes. Will it be worth it? That's for you to decide.

I see the trend here. And yes Mark...it does have the original 60. I'm just in the market for a driver...not something I want to dump a lot cash in, not something that is restored...just something I can drive, doesn't look terrible...but it wouldn't be the end of the world if it got scratched or dinged. Be that a 350/galaxie/fairlane. I wouldn't mind putting a wrench to it...but no major work.

Must be a camper special, since it has the second battery on the driver's side. That can create it's own unique set of electrical problems, especially if it's been hacked into, and it looks like it has.

I'd say no. Pictures make things look better than what they are.
If it was worth the time to restore , it would have sold already.

Does it have the D60 ?

.

Pictures make things look 1000% better. I have wasted many hours and miles going to look at trucks that looked OK in pictures but were basket cases in real life.

That rot looks terrible on the passenger side upper drip rail at the front. I can only imagine what is hidden under that "custom" paint job.

Got to like the painted trim to, makes all of it virtually junk. He must of known the tard I got mine from.

In my "professional" opinion you would be buying this truck simply for the title and frame. It looks like it would need an entire cab swap. With that said and the fact it has the OE D60 up front 1700 would be top $$$ I would pay.

You know as well as I do a fully restored 350 supercab will bring big $$$ when it comes time to sell it. Cost to get this truck into a comparable truck like Ken just bought would be about 15-17K if you did the work. That $$ wont even get you into the motor, trans or T- case for repairs.

Thanks Scott...was hoping you'd chime in. The thought was to buy it for the title and vin...but every pic I saw made it worse and worse. I'm not looking to sink 20k right now...3-5 sure. I guess the tribal council has spoken. Thanks guys.
