6.4 diagnosis

Give you guys an idea how much fun it is to diagnose------08 6.4 in today with check engine light. P2002, and p244a (both related to dpf). Process involves---check for aftermarket exhaust modifications (none, bone stock), check for exhaust leaks (none), check integrity of dpf pressure sensor and hose (ok), connector and wires ok, nothing left, replace dpf. Codes show amount of back pressure not enough for the situation (like its free-flowing) it goes into constant regen (fuel mileage goes to crap).

It's impossible for it to be in constant regen. The PCM will not allow it to stay in regen. If it doesn't see the pressure change that it is looking for it will stop regen and set a code.
