6.0 running problems

Every now and then my truck will fall on its face with power then you let it sit for a few second and it runs fine oh yea after a big puff of black smoke rolls out. any ideas asw hat could be going on HELP

Sounds like an EGR valve. Search it. Lots of info here.

Yeah, I think I'd go egr valve issues first. Make sure you have good quality fuel in it (I push cetane boost fuel additives to all of my customers).

Are you talking about the egr under the intake? does anyone know what code P0611 is for? Im new to the deasel world so I need all the help or suggestions i can get. There is no whitw smoke comming out just real heavy unburned fuel (BLACK).Help

I'm pretty sure its a FICM code. Performance issue. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong. I'm just a back yard mechanic.

Yep, p0611 is a ficm performance code. Make sure your batteries are good, but chances are you're going to replace the ficm or a ficm half shell.
