4x4 problems... :(

ok so on friday i went took lunch at a local pizza shop that had an all iced parking lot. i threw it into 4x4 and spun around and thought, "hmm that shouldn't have happened. i then proceeded to move forward and moved slowly with a lot of spinning and realized my 4x4 isn't working! i haven't had the time to look at it lately. today it snowed 5-9 inches and it is definitely not working. the hubs are LOCKED and i did try it in 4HI and 4LO and still got nothing. i just got back home and decided to turn the front axles by hand to see if it is a hub problem. it was out off 4x4 for the whole day since it is useless. i turned the axles and they both were locked to the hubs like they should have been. any suggestons? im saying its probably either a linkage issue or a transfer case issue like a broken chain....or a bad gear(s)........ any help would be greatly appreciated. i can't check the truck out until tuesday night when i have the time unfortunately. thanks in advanced

Well you've ruled out the hubs... Have someone pull the shifter back and forth while you lay under the truck and watch the linkage to make sure it's engaging the way it's supposed to. If it looks like the linkage is operating correctly then it's time to pull the case and dissemble

Don't worry it aint that hard... If I could do it then you definitely can

yeah i know it shouldn't be that hard. ive had it out almost a dozen times. thanks chris. hopefully i can get that checked out tomorrow on my lunch break.
