Does anybody know if the timing chain tensioners on the Ranger 4.0L SOHC use oil pressure?

Yep, but they're different than a 4.6 or 5.4. The tensioners are driver side front (next to the intake), ans pass side rear (next to the exhaust manifold). Any time you do anything with either chain, you always start with the pass side rear to time it. If you dont, you risk bent valves.

Thanks Vince! A guy on one of my Ranger sites was getting some noise on a dry start after changing his oil, so I suspected the chains were tensioned by oil pressure.
