2007 Superduty 4x4

Yes, I joined this site looking for help with the death wobble. Yea, I nearly died the other day when I experienced it. Going into oncoming traffic with the truck vibrating to the point of coming apart is not fun. After research, I am changing back to stock recommended tires,( the used car dealer put new cheap tires on truck at my request, but they are not rated for this truck, I had no idea about the death wobble at the time), and replacing the steering stabilizer. I hope this works. I saw a site that offers a repair for $900 but hope I don't have to go there. I don't have a jacked up truck, just stock, but lots of miles 150,000.

The tires and steering stabilizer will definately help. Look under your truck at the bar in front that goes from the frame on one side to the axle on the other side. That bar is usually the start of problems such as those.

Welcome aboard. Sorry to hear about your problems. I don't know a damn thing about SD's, but in general, start looking for worn out bushings and steering components. The steering stabilizer will help mask the problem until it gets so bad the stabilizer no longer helps. Reducing tire size will also help put less stress on the front end, again masking the problem.
