1990 F350 460Gas converted from EFI to Carb

It there any way to use the stock ECM to change the gear in a E40D transmission when you change to Carbs ? Or do you have to buy a stand alone computer that runs off the tach ?
Looking for answers to another previous owner issue

You have to use some kind of throttle position sensor to achieve that, not sure what else. The diesels of the same age had a sensor on them to allow for computer control of the transmission. If nothing more, could maybe find the controller from one of them to do as you need. Otherwise, you need to essentially trick the computer to think it is running the engine, perhaps hook the sensors up even though they aren't in control.
