I just bought a 1987 f250 5.8L 351 V8. This truck ran fine when I first got it besides a broken fuel gauge and a squeaky belt. Then I tried to start it and it would start and turn off so I figured I ran out of gas. I put 5 gallons in the rear tank and poured some gas in the carb, It ran fine after that but now it does one of to things it either revs high in idle for a while then shuts down or it just dies down if you don't hit the gas. If you have any suggestions they would helpfull. I checked the fuel filter it wasn't clogged and the fuel line has pressure maybe it could be the fuel regulator im not sure, or the carb or a vacuum leak?
