Oh I see. Looks better than before but definitely could use some improvement. I like the shiny valve covers too. I threw mine in the garbage because I got tired of keeping them clean LOL

Just curious, this being a gen 8, did it originally have EFI???

no it originally had a 351W 4bbl H.O. in it.. previous owner had so many issues with it he just bought this cleveland and swapped it in.

definatly.. i love the chrome.. i just did a lil cleaning on the engine bay and looks pretty good now.

So, what parts are you guys willing to donate to the cause? ;)

I'll donate a manual cover for the hump if it's swapped to manual.

Alvin in AZ

no joke.. but no manual in this truck..

Nope, 87s were all Carbed except for 302s.

How could you have probs with a 351w, no issues lol, a BB in 87 was EFI, I work on a 87 F350 mason dump with a 460 EFI

Tuck sure has come a long way. But facing the coin you're going to sink in that thing to make it nice and what you want, to still have a $2500-3000 88 250 2by why not work smarter and not hard.

You're gonna do what you're going to do, I respect that...but unless that truck has some sorta sentimental value, why not???

^^^He is already three days into the same plan for once don't change his mind lol. At least he has a plan and focusing on it. Plus the little things he is doing now is more time than money. Plus I think the one thing we all have in common is sinking more money into the trucks than they are worth.

^^^Agreed 100%...but I also think we all like to start with the best possible platform to help alleviate some costs. But I just like options, but sticking to a plan is even better.

the F150 that you posted up is no better of a platform than this truck..

F150 stock suspension, stock 8.8 axle, stock size tires, EFI 351W

my truck, F250 suspension stronger Sterling 10.25 rear, 33" tires already on it. carbed 351C that has a slight oil leak, but less than 10k on rebuild, trans is strong...

If you're happy, I'm happy...I was primarily speaking cosmetically, and the horrors of dealing with a frankensteined truck.

Totally agree with starting with best possible platform. And in Chris' case I think this is best for him because he seems enthusiastic about working on it...more so than other projects including the flareside. And honestly I think this is one of the first threads where I haven't thought 'oh God here we go again'. :rolling laugh:

Chris, keep me posted on how well that paint holds up, specially on the arm rest. I've been looking at painting the F-SD's interior but wear and tear on the paint keeps me from doing so.
