1980 F-350 reg cab 4x4 questions.

I'm going to look at a new project. It's just as the title says. A factory one ton 4x4. Not a pieced together truck. I'm planing on making it a sled puller. I won't be butchering up the truck. But it will be getting a nasty BBF and an Np 435 trans, along with a Dana 60 front end swap. My question is does any one know if the 350's got the bad frames aka the Swiss cheese frames. Like I said it is an actual one ton. Any help would be great.

I am pretty sure that was only `150's and light duty 250's. Easy way to find out is look behind the cab at the frame. If it has a bunch of bigger circular holes, it is the one you are not wanting. Been a long time since I actually saw one, but you will know at a glance.

I've only seen the "swiss cheese" frames on the 1980 f100's and the '83 up f150. They did that to lighten the GVW in the light duty trucks.

There was a pic just recently on t'other site of an F350 frame...it was the Swiss Cheese type as it had round holes in it.
