2008 3L 2wd Ranger 111,000 mi.
I've ordered the cam shaft sensor from Ford.
Before the monsoons hit the northwest, I'm thinking I'll replace a few more also. Here's the list so far
ICV, MAP, engine coolant temp (2 ea), Oil pressure. Any thing else?
Thanks Pat
Did it again, mine is the 3L two hole, but looks nothing like that. Thats what I was wondering if it's right before I get it.
Thanks
for some reason I can't get it through my head this truck is 3L.
I got the check engine light, parts house found 0340 code cam sensor.
My question is the part recommended doesn't look like the original, which is 2 eared but narrow. Replacement is round disk w/2 holes. Is this going to work? I've looked up others, there are a variety of one and 2 hole...
I found a way to identify the service kit
on the box is listed a fram filter number
FT1115A
Fram site is FT1115B, but that is the 2WD
filter. Must be mislabeled on the box.4WD kit has fram # 1087 A on the box.
When I went to get a service kit, the guy asked if it had a sump tube. We couldn't find any way to determine. I ended up with two kits and will return one. I'll know when I get the pan off, but how to tell before hand?
Thanks Pat
Starts right up, idles fine, runs good.
I don't know where the cam sensor is located.
It's like the light came on to see if I was paying attention.
Pat
Last week I got a check engine warning, on my 08
2wldr,3.0 six w/67,000 mi.
Oil and coolant were fine, changed air filter, still on.
Had the parts house use their code thing.
It came up PO340
cam shaft sensor
A circuit or
bank one something sensor.
Later that day and today there is no check...
I bought a front seat at a junk yard today.
I think it was a 93 Econoline.
This seat has some kind of powered motor.
What is it for?
Thanks for any help.
couldn't find anything in wikipedia.
couldn't up load file too big

Searched a bit here, some of the vids are private?
Any way I've heard good sounds coming from straight sixes. Anyone tried glass or steel packs on the 3.0?
I don't want flowmasters or mags.
Thanks Pat
My 08 Ranger has 56,000 mi on it. 3.0 automatic.
The state has started me on emissions test.
Passed with flying colors.
I see it's got two converters, that could be an expensive
repair.
How many miles before these tests start picking up
problems?
Thanks Pat
WAHOO
It was the WOT relay, $15.95 at the dealer.
I'd like to thank Charlie, he saved me my $100
deductible on my extended warranty, being retired
thats a lot.
Now I'm a little more familiar with this system, another question. I watched a vid on how to test high and low vacuum, but don't see...
:wasntme: well I did find the diagram on the relays
the two small one checked out differently
when I switched them the truck wouldn't start.
I'm headed to Ford for a relay tomorrow.
Thanks-I'll let you know.
Thanks
yesterday it seemed to run normal, about 1/2 hour.
I'm not sure what the expansion tank looks like, the chiltons doesn't point it out.
By checking, do you mean look for corrosion, or for continuity. The plug on the low pressure switch looks OK, is that a place for some dielectric grease?
Right now the compressor isn't running at all.
It does spin by hand.
I tried to find the ground lug on it but both posts read open
to batt. neg.
thanks Pat
The thing went out again this morning.
I read through my Chiltons manual, and searched threads here.
Tested the fuses in the passenger , and engine compartments.
Pulled the WOT relay, it doesn't have a wiring diagram, like the old ones, does anyone have a diagram how it's wired?
This being...
Here's a new twist on it.
This afternoon after sitting in bumper to bumper traffic, it came on and stayed on. I flipped it to AC and Max AC and it still stayed on, like normal. Even shut the truck off once, and it came back. ???????
Is it sleepy from a long winter, I was told these are supposed...
I've got an 08 ranger with 56000 mi.
Twice now the air conditioner came on for an instant, then nothing, just cabin temp air.
I had the blend door replaced at 36, 000 mi.
I wouldn't think it would be that.
acts like a bad relay or maybe a bad temp sensor.
If so where do i look?
Thanks for any...
