    Ok, the small dents are in the edge of the tailgate and not that noticeable and we did not fix or fill them because of either cut the tailgate apart to reach the backside, or drill holes to pull and create a rust spot later or use bondo which falls out shortly. Those are the only dents, period...

    Discrption says all mileage unknown. Could be 100+ 200-300k but defiantly over 100. West coast truck from Oregon, been here in wi for 6 yrs,saw 1 winters use here.     I would say yes to the block/deck milling and no we did not check preload on the net lash. Vacumn is rock steady 15 in and yes it does sound very uneven on the exhaust side. Also if you shut it off and restart it before oil psi goes down it does pop back though the carb once or twice before it...

    To the 77 400 in my 'scapers F-250 converted to dually we added Weiand intake, Holley carb, Summit 14x3 air filter, Summit air cleaner tri bar nut, Summit headers, cam/lifter kit, timing chain set, Fel pro gaskets and Edelbrock chrome valve covers for about $915 from Summit Racing to the shop...

    On my 'scapers 77 F250 4x4 with 400 c-6 we added cam, headers, accell ign and a weiand intake with a Holley 0-80457S 600 cfm carb and he says its way way better in performance and economy.
  8. Jeez, how thirsty is a 460???!!!!

    Our 87 f250 ex cab w/460, C-6 and 4.10's gets around 11mpg towing a 24' trailer(10+K lbs) and about 13 mpg empty. It is worse on the hwy( see guage move when towing @70 mph) but around town a 20 gallon tank gets around 215-230 mi. We have a Edelbrock 750 carb on it untill I can get a new Holley...

    302 stroker = 347 (overbored), 351W stoker = 393(overbored). GT40 heads + 1/2 drill bit, 302 cams fit in 351(firing order revision), headers cost about the same for either. I'd go 351 or 393 w/GT40 heads and have a bigger smile than the 302 could ever give with the same mods IMO.

    Our 87 F250 4x4 w/460 killed 2 alternators and when exchanging #2 the parts guy asked if we had replaced the plug in as in this generation of trucks the plug goes bad and causes high resistance which overloads the alt and kills it. Make sure the battery and bat connections are good first though...

    For flat tappet cams, we run 10w-30 diesel oil, and have never had a cam/lifter related problem with any of the 56 flat tappet cam motors we have, from Briggs and Stratton to Ford to Zenoa.     Hopefully not to long. In a random traffic stop here the cops just check the windshield VIN but if the vehicle looks different than it should(F150 titled F350 dually appearing) they take a very close look.
