Shouldnt you be driving? Go beat your truck and get to know your shift kit.
its supposed to increase the firmness of part throttle shifts.
During regular driving, I'm not quite sure... But I can imagine that it would be better for my transmission when I'm pulling the boat. Why is that a good thing?

Huh? Who said I didn't know what it did? I bought it because we bought a heavy boat recently and I didn't want my tranny to overheat while towing it, just like you explained in your little shift kit explanation... Why are you being an ass?I am curious as to what made you want to do this without even knowing what the shift kit was all about.

Read your own damned post again eco. You asked why it was important to have firm PART THROTTLE shifts, and that I DO NOT know. But I'd have to be a complete moron to not know why I put this kit in my truck. Let's assume for a moment that I DID order the kit without knowing what it does, the BOX and INSTRUCTION booklet have tons of writing about the benefits of using the kit. If I had known that your little "why is that useful?" question was a LOADED question I would have answered it a bit differently. I thought you really didn't know why and wanted to learn, and I wasn't about to offer a technical explanation if I don't TRUTHFULLY have one; I'm not about to go misguiding you and/or other members on this site. You did, or at least I thought you did...
"During regular driving, I'm not quite sure... But I can imagine that it would be better for my transmission when I'm pulling the boat."
...and I wasn't being an ass. It did however strike me as odd that you put it in without knowing why it's function is beneficial...hence the comment.
If my mom didnt know it, id put a shift kit into her Grand Marquis. You cant even fell that thing shift. At 30K when i do the fluid its already burnt up. 147K on orig trans. I pray it doesnt die.
