Got a 78 460 that is complete less the carb and exhaust manifolds, but ive got some 429 car manifolds that could go with it. Looking for $175 obo

Have another 1978 460 that i pulled from a running 2wd F150 a few years back, planned on swapping it into my truck, but it wont happen due to marriage and moving. Complete with card and exhaust manifold, have all brackets and mounts. Ran perfect when i drove the truck, never missed a beat, torque beyond what the truck needed. Looking to get $450 obo

I was down at the Pull-a-Part in Charlotte on Saturday, they had 6 73-79 trucks (1 was a 75 SCS) and 1 78 Bronco. The Bronco was pretty damn good looking, I stripped a bunch of interior parts from it and nabbed some OE motor parts/accessories. Three of the 6 trucks were picked pretty clean except for body panels, the other 3 were still pretty complete and looked decent.

Is it just me or does those wheels look like (or are) the slotted mags available on the Free Wheelin' trucks!?

The slotted mags were available 1992/96 in F150 2WD/4WD's, E150's and Bronco's.

Isn't that [horn button] for a sport wheel?...Cool!
:rotz: (sigh) It is not cool...at all, because this is another clueless ebay seller (who I've encountered before).

He lists parts, but has no part catalogs, so he guesses on the applications.

This horn button is not for the sport steering wheel. See that H .. the 3rd digit in the part numbers prefix? That refers to a Heavy Truck!

D9HZ-13A805-A .. Horn Button / 1979/86 F/FT600/800.

The two 3 spoke sport steering wheels (D7OZ-3600-A ~ leather covered; D7OZ-3600-B ~ soft foam covered) were available as an option in:

1977/79: FoMoCo Passenger Cars (except LTD/Lincoln Town Car/Mercury Marquis/Grand Marquis).

1978/79 F100/350, Bronco and Econoline.

There were 4 different horn buttons (the Ford basic part number is: 3649 ~ not 13A805). It depends on the application which one fits what.

Be aware that 1978/83 Fairmont/Zephyrs also had a 3 spoke sport steering wheel, but it's not the same as the D7OZ's, nor are its horn buttons.

If Speed Control was ordered w/the Sport Steering Wheels, Ford used the various dealer installed Speed Control kits. The switches (as a unit) attach to the turn signal lever.

Little pricey if you ask me, and how would you be certain that it's NOS and not a japense reproduction?

I guess the assumption is, if it's got the original box, it's probably NOS.

Can buy a decent parts truck for that price! Dang....

It does seem kinda pricey, but it's possible that he will get that. If he had the pair, they would probably be gone by now.
