Not that...aren't you going to re-rivet?

:D

^^ Alvin will find a way. It might not be the factory-Ford way, but he'll do something that just works. That's why I I love reading his posts. Factory specs be damed, he just does stuff that works.

Then there's your build, Duncan. I know you'll have every last rivet in place that FoMoCo put there when the truck was built...like it just came off the showroom floor. And that will be sexy as all hell, too.

I guess Alvin's truck is that wild college girlfriend and your tuck is the marrying type. Both are worth having. :)

So I'm layin' under the truck taking a breather and it hit me what a cool view it was,
so took a picture for you guys. xD

I guess this goes with it... ?

I love that view, but it's better when everything is fixed and I just stare at how cool these are. I don't like it too much staring at things I need to fix.

Cool post, thanks for that, Jolly Green Jeans. :)

Ain't got a picture yet but I bolted that mount back on using flywheel bolts. xD
They're stronger than the stock rivets and stronger than the body mount too.

I'd rather it be riveted but, the rivets had gotten stretched and were loose. :/

Fixed the choke and drove her across the road to watch barrel racing. These trucks are great for lazy days and cruising down the road.

I like your work Alvin. You have a way with these trucks. :)

I got some parts in today. It's raining out, so the truck is still on two wheels..

Raybestos and Moog!

Bearings were fine, washed and re-used.

Painted the Tie rod assy with left over POR-15. I believe in that stuff. My hubs are painted with it and held up great in the solvent tank.

Where you at? :)

She was a hell of a horse rider and trainer too but couldn't beat certain gals
with their hand-picked high-dollar barrel-racing horses. Jockeys and trainers
are important(!) of course but the horse runs the race. ;) My brother in law
was a hell of a jockey had gotten into lots of really-bad "horse wrecks" so I
know that side of it a little bit.

BTW... "streets don't go all that fast" ...neither! LOL :)

Thanks for the kind works Dirky. :)

What wheel bearing grease you using Red, Blue or Black? ;)
Is that it in the next picture, kind of a green?

Lucas X-tra #2?

Can't find it on their website.

You know? You don't have to actually wash 'em after this -if- you use the
same grease again. ;) YMMV? LOL :)

I couldn't disagree with you more on that, Buck. LOL :)

I like working on this stuff, I think it's cool. :)

I remember -exactly- how I was feeling when I took this picture of the ZF
all put back together.

"fun's over :/"...

New fun started a few days later getting to put it in the '91 Bronco tho! xD

Down in the small town of Brenham, Texas, Alvin. They built a small arena across the street from me and my cousin was running.

I just moved here to Brenham with my dad. It's a great little country town. Lots of antique shops and country roads. I bunch of car and truck clubs take crises through here.

Alvin the Chipmunk don't do what he's told and don't follow the rules most
of the time neither. :/

^^ No washers! They introduce another place for future-slop, IME. vv

And a new picture for the "I -caynt- pull the transmission by myself" crowd...

Hey Gen.5ers and Gen.6ers...
...check out that 6303 seal ball bearing in the crank of that FE! xD

Man oh man that's the way to go for a pilot bearing, no kidding, do it. :)

Alvin, is that transmission in your kitchen ?
Corner of the living room. xD ...no women living here at the time! LOL :)

My new wife and daughter -say- they won't have a problem with a ZF in the
living room. Somehow I bet they'd have a problem with a stinky T18 tho. ;)

I bet the ATF smell won't go over after a day or two also. They both have
really sensitive noses, so won't be their fault, see?

No rivets Alvin?
Ok, I think I get it now??

No re-riveting for me, it'd rather have bolts so it's easy to take apart again. xD

YMMV?

Ahhh... -East- Texas. :)

They offered me a Signal Supervisor's job in Beaumont but turned it down.
I'm not supervisor material but I do make great chigger bait. ;)

Got chiggers here at my place at Hwy 83 in Vail AZ in July and August.

---> hydrogen peroxide <--- !

Rubbing that in with a Q-Tip for 5 minutes a couple times a day for a couple
days reacts-with/destroys the enzyme responsible for the itchy hole in your
skin. No kidding, I came up with that one myself. xD ...after reading it was
an -enzyme- and not the bug itself. Later read where others were using the
same technique. :)

summers on the farm in {Craighead County} Arkansas ;)"
