Have any of you ever had a neurological test done on your spine or had EMS done? Those were both new to me. I loved the way the EMS felt, but no so sure I want that all the time or anything.

the quack chiros are the ones that have you back weekly, a good one will keep you out for a few months at least. I used to go about every 3 months, and that was plenty. I don't respect ortho's much more because surgery and shots are their anwer to everything. When my back went to heck, the ortho specialist wanted to use cortizone shots to treat it, even though I had been dealing with back troubles for 14 years already at that point (that chiro had helped me through for that long) . I had cortizone injections in one of my wrists, and it made it way worse, still to this day have more trouble with my left than my right because of that, a different ortho specialist recommended that... But I asked him "aren't cortizone shots for temporary relief of swelling?" "well, yes..." I've been dealing with this for 14 years, do you really think it will help?" "Well, no..." "Then why are we even talking about it?" No answer... I went to a neurologist to get my back fixed up. I found neurologist to be better knowledgeable about all of the troubles than ortho's...

EMS yes, and it does help me quite a bit when I get too out of shape. :)

Well, I got my report and good news today! It's going to be expensive and hard to do unemployed, but my neck can be fixed. I got some rather surprising news as well. I did not know it, but I have two spots in my vertebra in my back that are bad and my lower back muscles aren't functioning properly and are in poor shape. He also found something odd in my neck we never suspected. As well as the spine having no signs of ANY curve in the neck, I have three compressed discs. He said there are only two things that cause that and NO where in my memory (I must have been real young) that I had either injury. In short, I am in a bad, but fixable way. It's going to be time consuming too. Right now I am on a three times a week schedule, every M, W, F. He wants to (no medicine, woot) get the pain in control then he will start the treatment to get my curve back. My muscles and spine will all have to be retrained.

Long story short, there IS light at the end of my tunnel. :)

That is good news I guess. So work through it and hopefully you will feel better soon

Didn't you read Brad's post last week???

Due to increased costs the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned "OFF"!!!:suspicious:

Hey I got so many problems with my back and neck it's unreal. My wife thinks I'm crazy for buying a truck with a manual trans

The doc is surprised I don't have headaches all the time and that I am as active as I am. In my case and probably yours, we learned to live with and deal with the pain. Sad. :(

Are you being worked on??
