A true FrankenFord, '85 F250 cab and chassis/axles with the body parts from a '90, '93, and a '95 and the engine from an '86, and trans/case from a '90... It's a 460 BTW...

Not a member here, but someone on FTE. It did in fact have stacks, some chrome rims and a huge cow catcher on the front.

i really don't even think i need to say more about it except it's a 85 with a 300 and a 3 spd with granny gear manual... that truck has pulled trailers to places my dad's 3/4 ton chevy cldn't get to... but then, maybe it was the driver too ;-)

My dad's old 83 F250 had a straight six with 3 spd granny gear and it would pull a cattle trailer like nothing - always said in granny gear that thing would pull a house down. The 6/3spd combo was meant for work and Ford didn't mess around - if you can take care of a 6, it'll run forever and work twice as hard as engines twice as big

Here's my 1983 F-250 w/460

It is a non emission 1983 460. It is bare to the bones, but I want to put the cab from my '89 150 XLT Lariat on to it to get all the bells and whistles. Any helpful hints on the project will be accepted.

I'm guessing by bells and whistles you mean power windows/locks and cruise control?

Most of that stuff is plug and play on your 83, your truck is already pre-wired for most of it. Swapping a cab is way too much work if you're just wanting power stuff. Just go out to the junkyard and find a similar year truck and grab all the crap you want off of it and plug it in to your truck.

Nice truck btw.
