It really is a sharp car.

Just wrapped up a fun day with this beauty!

Originally a six cylinder car...

I'll retract my statement...I was thinking '56, that car you were detailing is a '55. In '56 there was a V under the Chevrolet hood emblem and on the trunk if it had a V-8...

Thanks guys. That was a super fun gig. One hour a pop per wash.

Having lots of fun with this one... Long story short, young guy gets paint job, doesn't have the money to pay second deposit. During this time there was an employee issue or something along those lines. Car was half arse sanded then set outside when lack of payment arrised. That was six years ago!

On the left panel you see the beginning stages of my in-depth sanding job. What I'm doing is removing the very deep and careless scratches from the first failed attempt by the body shop. The right panel sums up the condition of the entire car.

The paint was thoroughly hacked. Even the door handles and taillights had been beat up!

My most aggressive compound was used first to establish a baseline. As you can see, there are plenty of sanding-induced scratches.

More sanding scratches:

En process, sanding the right way!

There will be zero texture in this paint - it will reflect light like no other.

Now we're cooking!

Another test spot on the ever-more-so-beat-up hood.

50/50 for the day. :D

Thanks guys!

That reminds me of buffing the old lacquer paint jobs.
It is amazing west can be accomplished with a buffer and the right products.

Please allow me to correct - it's all knowledge. I can hand my part time guy the same tools and he couldn't reach a fraction of my results. Not trying to sound pompous there, just emphasizing the knowledge needed for quality results.... that's what got me this job in the first place - unskilled people with dangerous tools. :D
