That should be a roller motor but it will have the base cam in it. The '94+ truck/explorer cam is a step up, then the 5.0HO cam, and then there are several aftermarket cams like the Comp XE264HR that I have... all of which work with SD efi.
 
First you got to describe what kind of powerband you want. The XE264 for example makes the 5.0 noticably softer then stock at low rpms but it hauls from 2000rpm all the way to 5000+rpm. The XE270 has more duration and will push the powerband further up the tach, so it's better suited to a motor with improved heads and a high stall converter or a blower for example.
 
I'll try to get something similar of my truck for comparison sake, but overall I'd have to say mine is similar to that right now and it's an extended cab 4x4 which is close to 5000lbs.
