Im going to try to do more after work,an w-end,Gona bring home the lil
welder,an see if it has enough powa to weld the holes.
I found some sandable primer at napa,but dont like buying paint there..

Heres what I did this mornin,rough sand,I will do a fine sand later.

hope you got some primer on them bare spots... rust starts quickly...

Lol....alittle more aint going to hurt,I already have to clean up a bunch
of surface rust,That why Im trying to get something on it before fall
hits.
I got primer,I left it raw,until tomorrow,Im going to try an get the top of the
cab done sometime tomorrow.
I have 0 moister in the air here,infact,we will get a big fine if we use
are water outside....

A couple of months ago,we had a big dust storm,It happen at night an we sleep with the door an windows open,...We all woke up filthy dusty the
next mornin...There was a thick layer of dust evrywhere,we look like
we just come in from riding out on the range for week....

My wife an I had to wipe everything down,sweep an mop twice...

lick of rust on those spots yet,still shinny an new...

Ive had the truck for 5 years,I know that the previous owner had bare metal
on the truck already,thats where the othe rust spots are,theres a ton of the
spot all over the truck.
Those spots look better then the bad spots with paint on them.
I am a painter...Some times paint actually helps rust do more damage.
Aleast with the bare spots,I know where the rust is....

We are from different areas,if I lived where you are,Id be sweatin bullits.
We have a dry climate here.

Those lighter areas you see in the pics,is the 10 to 15 year old
bare rust spots.The dark areas is the old paint.My pics dont do
justice.It was the lighting from the sun...

yeah but you'll have her looking sweet before too long....I might have to get it protected sooner, but I don't wait around once i start a job like that though....it's a piece by piece process but I make sure it's done best I can

Trying,I dont have a good spot to do this,an it gets too hot,even at 98 deg.
Hot to be standing on concrete sanding,a touching hot metal...

I think I got a pop-up canopy out in the shed,I will have look.

that'll help....I did my tailgate in the shed....not every part will be compatible with that though.

Well,got my first coat of primer down,took me all mornin,till now to get
the old rust off,an treated.after that cures,I will lightly sand,an put a
second coat of primer on it.That should also help with any fine scratches.

After the whole truck is done that way,I have a gallon of final primer..

Thnx.
It looks smooth enough to me,Not trying to be perfect,Just trying
to get it to look decent...an get rid of the rusty stuff & some
of the bad...
