    leaky carb?

Haha. Well I am used to keeping my foot resting on it. Been doing it for years when I lived in East Washington winters! The high idle I will tinker with. I just want to make sure I get everything tuned and adjusted right so no loss of power. I'm about to move back to Washington in a month or...

    leaky carb?

Thanks both of you! I got the choke adjusted properly. No more stuttering when cold on take offs. I have my idle set right.Only two things I have to figure out is: 1. I don't have high idle so when cold I turn the truck on and the rpms are low at like maybe 400ish until it begins to warm up...

    leaky carb?

How can I check the bushings? I've heard that you can move it a certain way to check if its worn out or not. I'll search some on it.Amkatt1, I'll check the coke operation in the morning. It'll be too late when I'm home. I don't think I said it too well earlier but the truck does chug in cold...

    leaky carb?

So I fixed an unplugged port on a PVC valve behind my egr which has been giving me problems. But when I was leaning over I noticed where the Carb sits on the manifold by the throttle linkage (drivers side) and by the choke assist on the passenger side is leaking some fluid. I haven't checked to...

    Happy Boy...

Sweeeet Ben.I know the feeling of getting in and driving after you haven't in one of these trucks in a long time. I just started this month using my truck as a daily driver again for the first time in a couple years. If it wasn't for Cali gas prices id have absolutely no complaints. Love...

    Going to GAS

I don't know remember what class it was when I was in college that we did this study. But ethanol can ruin gas mileage from 10% or worse for every 10% of Ethanol added to gas...and it's worse for older cars and colder weather because they weren't designed to handle it. (Numbers might not be...

    gas hose vent diameter

What size hose do I need for the vent hose off of the gas tanks? I'm at work and I want to stop by and get some fuel hose to hook it back up on the truck tonight but for the life of me I can't remember.....I wanna say 5/8......?Its got California emissions if it makes a difference

Hello I'm new here. Help! defroster vent crumbled!

Are you talking about the defrost ducts (that blow on top of the dash towards the windshield) or the center duct (that connects to the vents on the center of the dash. )?The center vent is something that definitely can crumble over time.... The defrost vents are a little sturdier plastic but...

    brake fluid leak somewhere...

Last night I was driving home and i was going down a hill and went to press on my brakes and the pedal went down pretty far. It took a lot of my foot being in that peddle to get it down. The brakes did work so to speak but my foot had to be all the way in it. I got it home and checked the master...

    79' Road Rogue

It could be that the dealer had a shop come in and do some custom work to it. Idk if that was as popular as it is now, but there are dealers out her in Cali that have shops come out and do a custom paint/body job to trucks and sell them like that...could be something like that for sure

proper rpm for idle and drive

Well if those speed calculator's are right on the side of the road are right, im about 3mph slower than what my gauge says. so if it says 60, im 57 ish
  24. brentleedragon

proper rpm for idle and drive

Both really. Its hesitating off the line and pretty unrepsonsive when picking up speed. It will get to 60mph but it seems like it is sluggish getting up there. As if there is no power behind it, foot goes almoost all the way down, and no I'm not driving it like a sports car

proper rpm for idle and drive

Sweet thanks GuysThanks Dennis for that, so just a little adjustment to get it right.I have another question, lately I have noticed the truck having some hesitation when going up hills or when accelerating (from like 45 to 60) my foot goes in the pedal and it is basically down and it barely...

proper rpm for idle and drive

Okay so I have a 79 f150 302 c6 with a 9"rearI finally installed a tach today, and when in idle (park) I'm about 550/600 rpms and while in gear I'm about 400/500 rpms. My hood says I should be about 600/650 in both...is that right? I have AC...never use (compressor has a leak) I know that...
