Original Hubcaps

did they make them with the 8 bolt pattern ?

Yup, I am 99% sure my 76 had them and it was an F250

The slots could be had in any combo . I ran them in 84 on a 79 dealer had 25 sets 15" 5x5 . But yes most 16 where 16.5 .Then every pre 84 truck I had had 16.5 rims.

The original owner of my truck said the dealer told him , ford didn't offer hubcaps for this truck. I don't understand that one .

And I think he is correct. I have never seen hubcaps on any 3/4 or 1 ton 78-79 Ford truck, only steel wheels.

Maybe the salesmen new what he was talking about then

If you look at the Ford 1978 4 wheelers Truck brochure,They used these S/S hubcaps,
on the full time 4WD trucks in the pictures. But they did not have the hole to fit the locking hub through.

I was watching "American Pickers" and one of the sheds that those guys went in had a set of these S/S hubcaps on the wall.
They looked like they were NOS but they were the satin finish, not polished and painted.

anybody know of a website showing rims styles and hubcaps ? My 98 f-250 has a chrome "wagon wheel" rims, with a big hub cap and 7 lug pattern.

F250 4WD's were not available with front hubcaps with a hole in them for the hub to poke thru until 1984. Prior to 1984, you could get 'em for the rear, but not for the front.

Hubcaps only cover the center of the wheel, while wheel covers cover the entire wheel.

1972/79 F250 2WD's and F350's were available with D2AZ-1130-J (replaced D1AZ-1130-A) 15" wheel covers that were also installed on 1971/72 LTD's.

See pic of truck in post 5.

In order to install 15" wheel covers on a truck with 16" wheels, the D2TZ-1210-A 16" trim ring was snapped on first, then the 15" wheel cover was snapped onto the 16" trim ring!

1977 was the first year that FoMoCo offered styled aluminum and steel wheels for F100/150 & E150, Bronco's got 'em in 1978.
