So.. Figured that I'd update y'all a little on the progress I've made over the past few days. I've been off for a few days, so I spent every minute that I could working on stripping stuff down and doing a damage analysis. As of now I know it needs:
Floor pans
Roof skin
Bed floor
Dash and dash...
Time spent on this truck is never lost time to me. The only lost time was the 20 years that this thing spent sitting untouched.Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
It's definitely a project. I've started pricing everything out, and to bring it back to how I want, it's going to cost somewhere around 15-20k. The money isn't an issue. It will all happen in time. Cab is just about gutting completely minus some chunks of dash pad. I'll make another post with...
I would say I'd just lift the radiator cap and drive another truck under it, but someone stole the radiator while it was abandoned. LolSent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
For sure. It's not anything that can't be fixed though. Can't expect a whole lot from a truck that has sat abandoned for 20 years in southeast Texas. Haha.Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
Got the truck home yesterday afternoon. Here's some pics I took before the weather got too bad. I'll update more later on today if the weather stays decent.Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
Oh yeah. It'll be in it's forever home early next week when I have time off to haul it out. Gonna be lots of pictures posted as soon as it's home.Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
I'm beyond excited about this. For several years I thought it had gotten crushed. I never thought I would see it again, let alone own it.Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
I haven't posted on this site in quite some time. Sold the 89 f250 I had a couple years back and been out of a Ford since sadly. Until today.. Before I post the picture of the truck, here's some back story.Back in early 1966, my great grandfather (moms grandfather) bought a brand new 1966...
I may post there every now and then, but this will be my main place again. I just can't stand it when people do that stuff. Especially on one post where all I did was ask for a few pictures. There might not be as much activity here, but it is a much nicer group of people here than over there. I...
About a month ago, I joined F*E because of all the activity and info they had there. I have made close to 150 posts in that time and gotten alot of info. Some good, some bad. But I am coming back here because of the complete $$$$$holes that they have over there. People always bashing each others...
I understand that. Once I get it running, a rebuild will most likely happen if the truck doesn't end up just getting a crate motor.Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3
I have a 1989 F-250 with a 351w / c6 auto trans that hasn't been ran in about 4-5 years. It ran decent when it got parked, but got horrible gas mileage (4mpg on a good day.) and it has close to 400,000 miles on it.I know for sure that it needs a new battery and a new starter solenoid since...
Too much money involved in all that. Plus there isn't any places out here to use a pre runner for what it's made for out here.Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3
So one day me and my buddy were told by his grampa to go to the store. We took his old 1984 F-150 with a 4.9 and 3 speed overdrive. On the way back, we decided to take it down a little dirt road that is good for sliding around on. The truck is a single cab short bed, so we thought it oughtta do...
I thought about that, then I realized that I want to be able to have some fun off-road. I'll probably end up buying another truck sometime to make into a dedicated pro-street truck, but for now, I want/need a truck that I can use more. A performance built truck wouldn't really be good for me at...
If somebody is willing, I would like them to do a Photoshop of my truck for me.I would like to see it with about a 6-9 inch lift, 35-37 inch tires, and rims don't really matter as long as they are reasonably sized and black. Here's the truck.
