The rebirth Of Twiceblown.

Looks like im a little late to the party. Was very Nice to meet you Cody. Had fun. next time hopefully you can show up earlier and i can take you out to dinner.
Thanks for the nice words for my truck. As Chris will tell you its my life work.

Well i guess Ill update this to the end. So in 2010 the engine got a miss. So its been in the truck for some time by now so we pulled And found out that a rocker tip had broken and and push on the retainer and drop a valve.

It bent the valve and that was it. Over the years i was saving parts up to build a stronger engine. so i said now was the time.

It was going to be make it a 408 and better crank rods and piston and put it back in.

But no i had friends feeding me ideas left and right. So what should of taking a year has taken 4 years.

So first we started with smoothing the inside of the fenders, firewall, and the rad support.

So now its the engine turn.

the 393 had done me well 600RWHP 3300 to 6200RPMs and 700RWTQ from 3500 to 6500RPMs on pump gas on 1000lb and Over 1000 HP and Tq on C16 and 30lb.
But the crank and rods were not rated for that so we didn't put it there much.

So the SVT block got Billet crank caps with a girdle and line bored. 0 balance crank, eagle rods with 7/16 ARP2000 rod bolts. and Diamond pistons. with .250 wall wrist pins.

Then the heads got ported to 300 CFM on the intake and the exhaust to 225.
Valve were in larged to 2.05 new springs.

Time for new turbos. I know the turbo i had could just stay with what i had before and there was know way they were going to stay with this new combo with the big heads and a 408 the 50mm were going tobe out of gas and give up at a lower RPMs. So out with the 50mm on centers and in with some 74MM on triangles turbos.
old and new side by side

And now to make it all work. All the Piping had to change. to the intercooler and the down pipes for the exhaust. Time to get the tip welder out and the cutting tools out.

did I see a Fram filter.....
what will Chris say?!!

Oh if its price your worry about dont come to me. I would charge over a gran all day long to make one that big.

Labor Labor Labor. It takes so long to make one of them things. And Argon. it toke me 2 180cf bottles argon to build one for a Doramax going in a 50s GMC COE truck for someone.

a Bell intercooler core for your truck would mostly cost $700 bucks.
They really do cost alot to build.

It only time it makes sense to build one. Is if its something thats not made.Or you cant find one that flows the CFM you need. Or if just nuts in Price.

But if you told me that the one for your truck was $1500 and flow the CFM you needed . i tell you to buy it.

If thats what they cost its not so bad, i really didnt know.....just the fact that pickup i/c is bigger than this one feedin 912cid and i think thats dumb.......that and the tanks on this are cast......im thinkin a 180° thermostat and a bigger i/c w/stock radiator would easily keep up to 1000hp cool.....
