The rebirth Of Twiceblown.

Well Ive been out of the Forums for some time. Got Tied of it. So the first real rebuild of my truck in 10 years. Ill post up here.

This truck started live in 1997. And was looking like this in 2001.
I had bought a 93 Lighting in 93 from Rice and Holdmen ford. Right out of High School. And got this one in 1997.

So when I was yong and did have the money as good as i can now. It was still save and past NHRA tech to go as fast as it did back in the day.

So I guess ill start at the top With How this truck came about .

This is my stock one And the One that now the race truck.

I buoght the race truck for 5Gran. As you can see It needed some help. But It was A Lighting.

And it didnt take long to start playing with it. and racing in it At Atco In NJ.

And we got it to go in the 14teens. And it was ok. we were using the stock 341 and gt40 heads that came with the truck. And In 1998 and 1999 I went to the WFC1 And 2. And I saw this .

And that was In the NLOC and i was a member. and my good Friend Ralph know Jason Brown. And Jason toke me for a ride. This thing was driven on the street . And it was running low 9sen times.
After that It was to late. I had to build one of these truck to this point.

so in late 1999 we were looking like this.

And we got in the 11;50s. Got a PI 3500RPM convertor. And got us a 10:90@121.
OK know were getting some were. Stock 351 Trickflow Track heats. And 2 T4OE 60mm turbos. and a PSD intercooler. So the next big thing was suspension.
so we did a 4-link coilovers and a c-noch in the rear. And 3" I beams and 2" springs in the front. Lat got me looking like this,

So that got us in the 10;80s@126 And a Please leave the track till you get a cage, LOL

So now to the cage. I paid some one to put a cage in it. and he killed the truck. put me back a year. and had to bring him to court. and i won. so this is the first cage i ever built. So here's all the junk i had to replace as well as cutting his cage out.

And here's My cage.

Now mind you the hole time were still running this stock engine. Yea Its got an FAST EFI and heads. But were still using a E4OD and the engine making 711TQ and 600HP to the tires. And a stock cam. The engine on power at 2500RPM and die at 5800. And were 3 years in and it will not die.
But on a dyno run in the 4th year it gets a Rod knock. And its died.

Awesome, totally awesome!!

about the roll cage, did the one the guy build fail inspection requirements?
what a drag (pun intended) that you had to have that happen to your truck, glad that you won though!

It wasn't a guy that did it. it was a speed shop. And i didnt even take it to tech. I could see it wouldnt pass when i when to pick it up. I paid his and got my truck. I wanted to punch him in the head when i got there. But it was better to get my truck out of his hands as fast as i could.

things were not welded all the way. there were no outrigers on the frame the bars were just 90ed under the truck and welded to the frame. 1/2 the front cab mount was cut away to make that happen. He cut holes above the rear window for the bars to come out. welded on the truck with out taking the computers out. and burnt my FAST EFI up.

Oh i goes on for Miles about that scum bag.
But it ok eh got it back 10 fold after ever one at the track found out what happen.

Dam!!! :headbang:

oh well. its water long over the damn.
So after killing the the stock block. and the block being way over the limit I bought a real block that would stand up to the power we were trying to push out of it. But that was about 2 gran. so we went cheep on the rest of it.

I built a 393 50oz crank the heads i had. A real cam. and a intake and TB.

so that got us to 600RWHP and 700RWTQ on pump gas and 10lb of boost with out trying hard. engine was alive at 2800RPms and never gave up to 6300.

The stock engine was on 18Lb of boost and C16 gas. And by the time it was looking at 5000RPMs it was only making 420HP.

Now at 22Lb and C16 it was looking at 1000HP and the crank was past its limit . We didnt think we were going to get that far that ease.

Then i moved To TN And i got king of bored with it So i started working on it again And making it better. First I started on the Exhaust .I Build a 31/2" down pipes and 4" exhaust.

And I made a New dash.
