Well my new idea is to Make one that mounts just above the Rear view mirror on top or get a headliner that has one molded in! Would look sweet I will make one out of MDF and Glass it and paint it pretty Most likely i will make one because i work in a Shop and am a programmer for a CNC LoL
I was thinking more of making a separate box out of MDF and fiberglassing it and mounting it to the underside of the dash ....That is cool tho..a good option.
So Probably a thread that will get moved but it is Gen 6 Specific..>I know on most trucks i would just cut the old deck space out and mount my new deck but was thinking of not molesting this dash and actually adding a new mount box for my cd player separate from the original Deck that would keep...
ya it is all top side and bottom molding...Paint is coming after that but i dont' wanna destroy the trim trying to get it off! I figured most is clipped in...but the bolts visable or hidden under the rubber in the trim??
Well it isnt a ground up which makes me  when i see them..Mine will go that way eventually but i had to get it moving again fully to feel good about pulling it apart to redo it even better!my old truck with the donor to the right :Here it is cab swapped over and the leaves from the...
I've done a 6" lift on my old Gmc(shh i know :P ) but i just had to do the Brake lines, dropped pitman and everything else "worked" Oh and i dropped my Swaybar. but otherwise...nothing however its steering was seriously hurt by the lift...Radius of turning turned into tank mode...
Hey What becomes a pain or needs to be replaced when doing these lifts on a 4" or 6"(will decide what i will do by the amount of replacing>)I know at 6" Dropped Pitman arm....and Brake lines usually but is there more to fords at 77-79 age that need to be changed when doing a lift??? Other...
haha I live in Vernon B.C Canada...so probably a ways.. I have the front clip and motor/tranny still on the truck. I will see what i can do for some measurements tho. Frame looks good other than usual Rust.
and i know the switch is in the right place because it only starts in park or neutral and that the stupid switch lights up the rear backups in 2 places a bit..UNLESS i somehow mixed up some wires that it is in a 2 position giving power? maybe i have the backups hooked to the neutral safety...
haha i'm all about that. Ok good so i cut off the wiring to the 79 tranny so i could just run the 4 wires off the original plug from the cab to the switch which i had to run wires back into my cab to the switch on the colom - hooked the 4 wires up and boom Perfect! Got backups and neutral...
I have a 77 tranny...And 77 steering colum to match my 4x4 stuff because the cab is a 79 2wd the colums didn't match up. Thats why it didnt have the second plug on the steering colum. Which wires on the cab side are for the BU light so i can wire up my steering colum control. That is what the...
Hey so i have done a cab swap and i have a 79 cab on a 77 frame. I replaced the Rear harness to be the 79 harness so that made everything easy..But i don't get backup lights when i put it in reverse( its an automatic 4x4 1/2ton) Am i forgetting to plug something in?? I'm thinking there should be...
