Hey is a 2wd -F250 the same as a 4x4 frame on a 1/2 ton from 78-79 Trucks? other than the cross member???

I've never seen a F250 2wd frame, but what about the steering box location? Track bar mount area may be missing from the 2wd frame.

What are you wanting to do?

no. the whole front half of the frame is a bit different. The 4x4 frame has a boxed in section that has different engine perches. Also, IIRC, the steering box on the 2wd is behind the engine, so to speak, and I know the 4x4 box is pretty much in front of the engine. The 2wd has shackles and springs designed for 2.5" wide, and the 4x4 is 3" wide on the rear.

In case you didn't see my thread, I'm looking for a 2wd front frame section....at least pics and measurements of the engine mounts/perches/towers. Not sure how far away from MN you are, though.

haha I live in Vernon B.C Canada...so probably a ways.. I have the front clip and motor/tranny still on the truck. I will see what i can do for some measurements tho. Frame looks good other than usual Rust.
